Our Community
A sense of community is very important to us as a School and our unique environment allows us to foster an inclusive community spirit, not only amongst the girls but also with parents and in the wider community. We have a very active Parent’s Association, the SMA, an ‘Old Girls’ Association and are active in the local community. From undertaking ‘random acts of kindness’, fundraising, participating in local competitions and spreading good cheer amongst nursing homes and other local establishments, our students learn from the very beginning of their education what it is to participate in and value the sense of community.

The St Mary’s Association, SMA, is our parent’s association which makes a very valuable contribution to the School organising both social and fund raising events; Balls, Fun Days, Fairs, Discos, and Quiz Nights are just a selection of the events on offer. “Once a St Mary’s girl always a St Mary’s girl”, this sentiment is firmly held amongst our community of former St Mary’s students. We have an active ‘old girls’ association who keep in touch via their own dedicated Facebook group, a biennial reunion and newsletter, as well as visits to the School, sometimes purely for a trip down memory lane, but also to share career and life experiences with our current students.
