St Mary’s Shines at ISA London North Badminton Championships

On Tuesday 11 November, a squad of twelve talented students from St Mary’s travelled to Webber Independent School in Milton Keynes to compete in the ISA London North Badminton Championships. The day proved to be a fantastic display of skill, determination and teamwork, with all three St Mary’s teams achieving outstanding results.

In the KS4 competition, Eliana, Lily, Cassia and Senna represented the school with distinction. The team played both singles and doubles matches against North Bridge House, Mill Hill School and Webber, winning an impressive 11 out of 15 games. Their consistency and teamwork earned them second place overall, finishing just behind Mill Hill School with a total of 200 points.

The KS3 category saw St Mary’s field two teams. The A team made up of Felicity, Isabel, Hana and Ifra dominated the tournament, delivering strong performances against all opponents, including their fellow St Mary’s B team. Their hard work and focus were rewarded as they were crowned KS3 champions, achieving a remarkable 203 points.

The KS3 B team Maya, Ishani, Sophia and Aleeza also performed brilliantly, demonstrating great perseverance and sportsmanship to finish in a commendable fourth place with 128 points.

All twelve students represented St Mary’s with pride, showcasing not only their sporting talent but also their enthusiasm and team spirit. It was particularly heartening to see some of our newest students competing for the school for the very first time.

Congratulations to all the players on a fantastic day of badminton an excellent achievement for St Mary’s!
