2027 Entry

Scholarships at St Mary’s aim to nurture and recognise exceptional talent. Our scholars play a key role in the life of St Mary’s – they excel in their subject, embrace the opportunities the specialist programme presents and act as role models for their peers.

Each year, St Mary’s School awards a number of scholarships at Year 3, Year 7 and Year 12 entry in the following subjects:

  • Academic
  • Art
  • Drama
  • Dance
  • Music
  • Sport
  • Gymnastics (Year 3 and Year 7)
  • Year 12 Excellence Awards

The application process celebrates the achievements, aspirations, and skills of each individual. Successful scholars benefit from a comprehensive scholarship programme tailored to their subject, which may include workshops, trips, masterclasses, leadership opportunities, conferences, competitions and more, along with a fee remission of 5–10%. In addition, a means-tested Bursary may also be awarded. Honorary Scholarships, which provide access to the tailored scholarship programme without fee remission, will also be awarded to talented pupils.

Scholarship Term:

  • Gymnastics scholarships awarded at Year 3 are held until the end of Year 6*
  • Scholarships offered to pupils joining in Year 7 are held until the end of Year 11*
  • Year 12 Excellence Awards are held until the end of Year 13*

*Provided that students continue to meet all the expectations of a scholar.

On this basis we offer a small number of means-tested bursaries to promising pupils entering Senior House whose parents are unable to meet the cost of school fees.

The deadline for new and current pupils’ Bursary applications for the academic year September 2025 to August 2026 is Friday 13th December 2024.
