Gym & Dance Show 2026 – SMS in Motion

The Gym & Dance Show 2026, SMS in Motion, has undoubtedly been one of the highlights of the year so far. It was a wonderful example of how, as an all-through school, we come together as a community to create something truly special, empowering our girls to embrace their talents and excel in both gymnastics and dance.

As Mr Fox, Head, said:

“From Nursery to Sixth Form, our wonderfully gifted girls mesmerised the audience with a breath-taking celebration of dance and gymnastics. With inspired choreography, they delivered routines full of joy, energy, remarkable athleticism and acrobatic brilliance. Watching their skill and confidence shine on stage filled me with immense pride for the extraordinary talents we have in our community.”

Our dancers and gymnasts have worked tirelessly alongside their academic studies to learn, rehearse and refine their performances. From our youngest performers taking their very first steps on stage to our senior students performing with confidence and artistry, each group brought something uniquely special.

Many routines drew inspiration from television and film, blending storytelling, nostalgia and the pure joy of movement. It was also wonderful to see older students mentoring younger performers and contributing to choreography, making this a truly collaborative production.

We are incredibly proud, as a school, to be celebrating recent success at national level in gymnastics. Our U11 Elite Gymnastics Team achieved an outstanding result at a major national competition, securing a silver medal at the Milano Finals Gym Competition—the school’s best-ever finish at this prestigious event. This success highlights the strength of our gymnastics programme and firmly establishes St Mary’s as a centre of excellence in the sport. With the exceptional quality of dance showcased in this year’s production, both disciplines are forces to be reckoned with here at St. Mary’s!

We are incredibly proud of every student who stepped forward to perform, compete and contribute to this unforgettable evening.
