A Spectacular End to the School Year
Our Prep and Senior Sports Days were fantastic celebrations of determination, teamwork and sportsmanship. Whether chasing personal bests, representing their houses or cheering on friends, every pupil embraced the day with enthusiasm and resilience, creating a wonderful atmosphere of encouragement and community.
A group of pupils also enjoyed an unforgettable visit to Wimbledon, spending the day exploring the iconic grounds and watching some of the world’s very best tennis players in action. It was a truly inspiring experience and a wonderful opportunity for our aspiring athletes to witness sporting excellence up close.
The performing arts and creativity flourished during our Evenings of Talent, with Years 7, 8 and 10 taking centre stage across three inspiring evenings that celebrated the remarkable breadth of talent at St Mary’s.
Our Year 7 Evening of Talent was a joyful showcase of creativity and confidence, with girls sharing their passions through an incredible variety of performances, crafts and displays. Audiences also enjoyed delicious baked creations during the interval, making it a memorable evening from start to finish.
The Year 8 Talent Evening was equally impressive, featuring outstanding solo acts, entertaining group performances, music, dance, drama and much more. Every performer demonstrated courage, confidence and individuality, highlighting the diverse talents that make our school community so special.
Our Year 10 Evening of Talent provided a wonderful opportunity for pupils to showcase the results of their hard work throughout the year. From impressive displays of coursework and creative projects to outstanding performances and personal achievements, the evening celebrated the dedication, innovation and passion of our students. It was inspiring to see every girl proudly sharing her work and reflecting on all she had accomplished.
Across all three evenings, the incredible creativity, confidence and enthusiasm on display reflected the rich diversity of talents within our school. A huge congratulations to every pupil who took part, and thank you to the dedicated staff whose encouragement and support made these inspiring celebrations possible.
Our youngest performers also stole the show during the Pre-Prep Ballet Showcase, delighting families with graceful routines, hops, skips and perfectly pointed toes. Under the expert guidance of Mrs O’Brien, the girls demonstrated just how much they have learned this year in a heartwarming celebration of their progress and growing confidence.
In Senior House, our annual Music and Drama Scholars’ Recital Evening once again showcased the exceptional calibre of our scholars. Audiences enjoyed an inspiring programme of monologues and musical performances featuring violin, flute, piano, drums and voice, with every performer displaying remarkable confidence, artistry and technical skill. Congratulations to all of our scholars, and thank you to the dedicated Music and Drama Departments for nurturing these talented young performers.
The celebrations continued with our End-of-Term Violin Concert, where St Mary’s violinists delivered a series of polished and expressive performances that reflected the exceptional teaching and dedication of Ms Stangl. As she leaves St Mary’s at the end of term, we extend our heartfelt thanks for her invaluable contribution to the school community and wish her every happiness and success in the future.
We brought this extraordinary year to a fitting close with Speech Day 2026, a wonderful celebration of achievement, character and community. Pupils, families, staff and governors gathered to reflect on another exceptional year and celebrate the achievements of students across every stage of school life. Inspiring addresses from Headmaster Mr Lars Fox, outgoing Head Girl Olivia Davidson, and distinguished alumna Dr Alexandra Leeper reminded our girls that ambition, resilience and kindness are the foundations of success. Prizes and scholarships recognised excellence in academics, sport, music, drama, leadership and service, while outstanding musical performances showcased the exceptional talent that runs throughout our school. The ceremony concluded with the welcome of our incoming Head Girl, Amy Lebrato, before families gathered in the Rose Garden and on Cedar Lawn to celebrate another remarkable year together.
As another memorable school year comes to an end, these celebrations perfectly reflect the St Mary’s experience—one where every girl is encouraged to discover her strengths, pursue her passions, celebrate one another’s successes and embrace every opportunity to shine. We wish all of our families a restful and enjoyable summer and look forward to welcoming everyone back for another exciting year at St Mary’s.
