Chamber Choir Performs at the Royal Albert Hall

The St Mary’s Chamber Choir had the extraordinary honour of performing at the iconic Royal Albert Hall as part of the Music for Youth Proms, a national celebration of the very best young musical talent from across the UK.

As members of the Collaborative Choir, our students took to the famous stage to perform two powerful and moving pieces, including Causeway by composer Aileen Sweeney and poet Iona Lee. Their performance was filled with passion and precision, and they were proud to contribute to such a memorable event in one of the world’s most renowned concert venues.

In addition to performing, pupils had the opportunity to enjoy a diverse range of inspiring performances from youth ensembles and soloists across the country. Highlights included the Habs Indian Classical Ensemble, the Birmingham Youth Symphony Orchestra (performing Holst’s Mars, a piece that Year 6 have been studying in their Music lessons), pop/rock musician Lois and her band, and the exhilarating Taiko drumming ensemble that opened the concert.

The day was an unforgettable celebration of music-making, creativity, and collaboration. The Chamber Choir represented St Mary’s with exceptional professionalism, enthusiasm, and talent. We are immensely proud of their hard work, dedication, and the inspiring way they showcased our school on such a prestigious stage.
