ISA Drama competition
On Wednesday 11th February the Drama scholars, plus a few more talented Drama students performed at the annual ISA Drama competition at Luckley House School in Wokingham. After many hours of intense rehearsal, the performers absolutely shone on stage. The judges feedback was excellent, with special mentions regarding the brilliant way the piece was staged and the outstanding physical and vocal skills demonstrated. The students worked together brilliantly, and it was fantastic to see them support each other through, what was a rather challenging competition. They also gained the experience of performing in a professional theatre with a very large audience that was filled with other schools and Drama professionals. It was a very proud moment for the Drama department at St Mary’s to see the incredible talent that our students have as well as the culmination of weeks of hard work. Well done to all of the students involved. The ISA Drama competition spans over 3 days, and the last event will be at the end of April in Warwick, therefore the final results will be announced in early May.

A comment of the day from Melody:
On Wednesday the 11th of February, I took part in the ISA Drama Competition. It was a really fun, competitive experience, and as well as performing, we watched other schools perform, which was really exciting too. After our performance, we took valuable feedback from the judges, and they praised us for the strength of our characterisation, how effectively we worked as a team, and our amazingly believable Liverpudlian accents! This was an amazing day out, and I would love to do this again.
