St Mary’s Students Make Waves at ISA Regional Swimming Qualifier
Barnet Copthall – Saturday 11 October
Students from Years 4 to 10 made a splash at the highly competitive ISA Regional Swimming Qualifier at Barnet Copthall. With only first-place finishers automatically qualifying for Nationals, the pressure was high—but our swimmers rose to the occasion with skill, determination, and outstanding team spirit.
Our students showed incredible resilience and sportsmanship—every single one made us proud!
Prep Students Make a Big Impact
The morning session saw our Prep swimmers (Years 4–6) compete with energy and enthusiasm. Highlights included:
- Melina (Y5) – 3rd in Freestyle, earning a place on the freestyle relay team at Nationals.
- Olivia (Y4) – Silver medals in both Breaststroke and Freestyle, qualifying for the freestyle relay team and missing gold by just 0.02 seconds!
- Georgie, Charlotte, Alexa, and Mae – narrowly missed the podium but showed fantastic effort and team spirit.
Senior Swimmers Dominate the Pool
Our older students delivered outstanding performances in the Senior session:
- Gabby – Competed in an older age group to win the 200m IM, also victorious in Fly and 2nd in Breaststroke.
- Kara – Gold in both Freestyle and Backstroke events.
- Marley (Y10) – Gold in 100m Backstroke, Silver in Fly, and Bronze in 100m Freestyle.
Watching our swimmers push themselves and support each other was truly inspiring.
Gabby, Kara, and Marley have all qualified for individual and relay events at the ISA Nationals, taking place at the London Aquatic Centre, Olympic Park on Friday 28 November.
Celebrating Team Spirit
A special thank you to Gabby and Marley for helping with team management, and to all our swimmers for their dedication, commitment, and camaraderie. We are incredibly proud of every student who took part in this fantastic event!
