Year 8 Scientists Explore the Spectrum

Our Year 8 students have been busy in the lab this term, learning the essentials of planning and measurement through a colourful chemistry investigation. Equipped with goggles, curiosity, and a rainbow of solutions, pupils explored how mixing acids, alkalis, and indicators can reveal hidden patterns in colour change.

This hands-on activity introduced them to key scientific skills — accurate measuring, systematic observation, and teamwork — all while sparking their excitement for science. The rainbow results speak for themselves!

Well done to our budding chemists for their enthusiasm and precision — the Science Department is very proud of their brilliant start to practical science this year.
